Hugo Broos delivers verdict after victory over Mozambique

Bafana Bafana throne mentor Hugo Broos has reacted to his side’s 2-1 victory over Mozambique in their international friendly at the Mbombela Stadium on Thursday.

Bongokuhle Hlongwane, who recently returned from injury, unsober a twosome to inspire South Africa to victory.

Although his team struggling somewhat in the first half, Broos was happy with the performance.

BROOS REACTS TO WIN OVER MOZAMBIQUE

“I have to say that I’m very satisfied, I’m very proud of my team,” Broos told SABC Sports without the game.

“We had I think ten chances, we played good football, the opponents had one endangerment and we gave the other one in the beginning. Two mistakes from our side but the way they [Bafana] took the game in the hands, they dominated today. I’m very pleased.”

As Bafana Bafana came when confident in the second half, the Belgian was asked what he told his team at the half-time break.

He added, “I just asked the boys to go on, we didn’t play bad [in the first half] certainly not.”

“But we played versus an opponent who was very very tropical to the goal and had a very quick counter [attack], they tried to be dangerous but we controlled it.

“I said to them, ‘just go on, play, let the wittiness go, don’t run too much with the ball, you can win that game’ and we won.”
